Awesome Weekend At Albany.

If  last weekends round at Manjimup was anything to go by, everybody who heads to Albany’s Atwell Park Speedway this weekend will be in for an awesome night of Late Model action

Round three of the Champion Canopies Pro Dirt Series will see the Albany bullring host the LMRA for the first time, and all of the drivers that have run there before in other divisions are champing at the bit to get their high horsepower weaponry circulating at this fabulous little oval.

One of those is Marc Giancola, who has been to Albany on numerous occasions, either as a driver, or crewing for his famous father Tony. Last weekend Giancola showed he had the pace necessary to run at the front of the field holding down third, when Mechanical dramas forced him infield.

But that’s behind him now and the Statewide Access/Giancola Auto Sales #43 GRT is ready to fire. “It’s been a tough week getting the car ready with the extra work to change motors, but once again my crew have done a fantastic job to get it all done.” He said form his family’s car yard this week.

“We really wanted to make sure we made it down to Attwell Park as it is one of my favorite tracks. I’ve won there a number of times, and it was the place that I won my first state titles at, and I love to race there any time I can. It would be fantastic to go down in the record books as the first winner of an LMRA round down there in Albany.” He said enthusiastically.

As this press release went out another fifteen cars have nominated as well, and they wont make it easy for Giancola, with a field that includes two Oldfield’s, Warren and Jason, two Vosbergens, Bert and Craig, plus the likes of Ben Ludlow, Jay Cardy, rookie Jason Moyle, inaugural LMRA champion A.J. Nylander and last weekends winner Brad Blake.

So far the ‘O Show’ (Blake) has been the one to beat, taking out wins at both of the opening rounds of the Pro Dirt Series at Kalgoorlie and Manjimup, but knows it wont be easy, as last weekends round proved when he had to face the pressure of Giancola, and eventual second place finisher Craig Vosbergen.

He knows that all the LMRA will be gunning for him as the series points leader, but just like Giancola, all would love to go down in th record books as the first ever winner for the LMRA at Albany. So if you’re a sedan fan load up the car, find a spot, sit down and hold on tight for some of the best sedan action you will see anywhere, it’s sure to be a ripper when the best the west have to offer hit the track at Albany.
