Big Field For Thunder Hill 30 At Narrogin
A big field full of quality drivers have nominated for this weekends running of the Thunder Hill 30 at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway. As at the time of this release eighteen cars had tendered their nominations to Late Model Racing Australia in what looks to be an exciting event.
At the moment they are all chasing one man – Brad Ludlow. So far this season Ludlow has the enviable record of crossing the line in the top two positions in every race he has finished, only one being in second. Unfortunately the rest have seen him receive a DNF against his name as mechanical problems and flat tyres have affected his 2010/11 campaign.
“I can tell you it’s been frustrating” said the second generation star this week. “It has really affected my point’s chase this year, which is what I really wanted to concentrate on for my sponsors. It’s the first time in a number of years I have been able to do the whole season so to have these problems has been a pain.”
One can tell that Ludlow means business and the rest of the field will have to lift their game to try and stop him in his DiCandilo Steel City/Lucas Oils #92 GRT, but even with a fast car the DNF’s have proven to be costly during the A-Mains and see’s Ludlow only seventh in the season point battle.
It’s another Ludlow who leads the series, Brads father Ben is currently on top of the R2C Competition Pro Dirt Series points table. The former champion has shown plenty of consistency this season and will want that to continue with a good showing in his DiCandilo Steel City/Lucas Oils #9 GRT. The wily veteran has put in some spirited drives this summer and has claimed one win; he certainly knows how to finish up at the pointy end of the field when the chequered flag falls.
The quality continues with the likes of Craig Vosbergen (Worldwide Construction Machinery/RACIN Tyres & Accessories #8 Rocket), “The O Show” Brad Blake (Blake Auto Centre #0 Rocket), Jay Cardy (BBT Steel/TL Dozing #52 Cardy Chassis) and Mick Hamon in his Valvoline/ACDC #57 Rocket all considered a chance for the win on Saturday night.
You can also throw in to the mix the returning Noakes brothers, Matt and Clint in their matching diverse directional Drilling/Caltex Energy Narrogin machines. It’s been a while since we have seen the two racing in a Late Model Sedans but both have kept their hands in by driving their Production Sedans around the country tracks during the winter months at places like Shark Bay and Kellerberrin Speedways.
Who knows there may be a surprise victor from the rest of the field too! To find out get your ‘Backside Trackside’ to watch Australia’s fastest sedans strut their stuff this Saturday night at Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway.
