LMRA Set To Sizzle at the ‘Plex’. The Late Model Racing Australia teams are set to sizzle this Friday and Saturday at the Perth Motorplex as support for Wanless World Series Sprintcars. They might be there as support for the Australian series, but even though WWSS is attracting the crowd, the LMRA will be putting on the show if the action seen so far this year is anything to go by during this seasons Perth Motorplex Track Championship. It doesn’t matter where you look during a race the LMRA has put on it has been action a plenty from the ‘Left Coast’ sedan stars, whether its at the front of the field or a fight for fifth place, season 2008/09 has been nothing short of awesome. And what do you expect with the calibre of drivers now driving these high horsepower 430ci machines. Brad Blake in The 0 Show Rocket may have been a three-peat winner last time the LMRA hit the wide expanses of the Kwinana Beach race track, but he didn’t have it his own way. Current Australian Champion Brad Ludlow driving the Aus #1 Rocket gave it his all to conquer Blake but no matter what he threw at the Bunbury hard charger he had to settle for the minor places in all three round of competition. Throw into the mix Warren Oldfield as well. He ran with these two champions in both races, only to see it all come undone with suspension failure in the final. But the quality doesn’t stop there. Craig Vosbergen is snapping at their heals, as well as the likes of veterans Ben Ludlow and Bert Vosbergen, plus Marc Giancola, Jamie Oldfield and Phil Richards. Ryan Halliday hasn’t started off his campaign well and will hope to have all the gremlins out of the #99 ‘Black Knight’ beast come this weekend. Another to impress early on is rookie Jason Moyle, with the Bunbury racer putting in impressive laps when he has avoided on track incidents. Also returning to the fray is the two car Glenbrae Racing team of brothers Clint & Matt Noakes. The off season has been a tough one on these two youngsters with work commitments and sickness robbing us of a chance to see these two hotshots in action so far this season, and both are ‘champing at the bit’ to hit the black clay this weekend. So if it’s a horsepower addiction you have, make sure you catch all the LMRA action down at the Perth Motorplex over two action packed nights this Friday and Saturday, November 21 & 22.
