Awards banquet a big hit

The annual Late Model Racing Australia Awards Banquet this Saturday evening the 1st of May was well attended by nearly 100 Drivers, Owners, Crew, Sponsors, Family And Friends.

The evening commenced with a short Welcome by CEO Rob Macgregor before handing over to MC for the evening Brad (FAT RAT) Steele.

Steele kicked off with a "Brownlow medal" style round by round summary of the season whilst an audio visual display of the seasons high lights played on the big screen.

Brad kept the crowd entertained between awards with some classy (and some not so classy) one liners and certainly added a level of professionalism to the nights proceedings.

It's lucky team Oldfield turned up with their fleet of Navara Utes as they needed them to to take home all their Silverware.
Jamie Oldfield (Ultratune Morley #51) was awarded the Coveted Bob Chalmers Driver Driver Award along with the AJN "Pursuit of excellence trophy".
He received a presentation for wining the most features during the season as well as second overall in the Racin Tires Prodirt Series.
In a first he was awarded best presented team jointly with brother Warren Oldfield (Ultratune Morley #15) as the cars where identically painted and equally well prepared throughout the year.
Warren also received 3rd overall in the Racin Tires Prodirt Series. Elder sibling Jason was presented with the CEO (Club person) award for his off track efforts as club general manager.

However they couldn't knock the O Show Brad Blake (Blake Auto Centre #0) off the top perch who yet again secured the top position in the annual Prodirt series point score.  Unfortunately Brad could not be present to collect his award as he was competing in the Queensland Late Model State Title.
Other awards winners were
Rookie of the year: Keith Gorman (Inside & Out Car Care #75)
BCM Quite Achiever: Jac Dolmans (Spaman #46)

Each Driver that participated was presented with a Commemorative Engraved Beer Mug and Ben Ludlow presented some Lucas Oils Products to the winners of each round's "Lucas Oils Hard Charger" award.
LMRA Corporate partner sponsors in attendance weren't left out either as they were presented with a framed poster depicting the season's Top 5 Top Guns and all the sponsor's logos.
After all awards were presented and the loveley buffet meal was devoured the bar did a brisk trade till late whilst DJ Ross Heywood kept the dance floor pumping with his tunes.

The LMRA Committee would like to thank Wayne Leviston, Chantelle Whitehead, Brent Vosbergen, Brad Steele and Ross Heywood for their assistance and an extra special thanks to Gemma Young!
