Wooster, OH --- Dirt Late Model driver Doug Drown of Wooster, OH finished up his 2007 Mid Atlantic Racing Series (MACS) season this past weekend racing in the annual ‘Big Kahuna’ at The Rock/Allegany County Speedway in Maryland where Drown completed the MACS season with a solid fourth in the season long point standings. Drown drives the Wooster Glass Co., Mason Racin, Bert Transmissions, Genesis Racing Shocks, Hoosier Tire-Mid Atlantic, Hyperco, Wrisco, Farr Motorsports, Slavic Custom Shirts & Decals, Lehman Motorsports Services sponsored Rocket Chassis/Malcuit Racing Engines #12.

“This past weekend was definitely not one we would like to remember from this year,” commented Drown, who won a MACS race earlier this season at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Ohio. “We were not close at all Friday night and it mainly had to do with me not being familiar with the track, since I hadn't raced there ever before. I wasn't sure what changes needed to be made to the car either so it made it hard for (crew chief) Scott
(Delaney) to dial the car in for me. We ended up finishing fifth in the B main and used a provisional to start the main. We ran pretty much at the back all night and I couldn't get in a rhythm to make good laps.”

“Then on Saturday night after talking with Scott and (Steve) Casebolt we got our selves on track and qualified 15th and then were running second in the heat race when shortly over half way my engine let go as we think a rod or rod bolt may have broke. We took our other car with a loaner engine from DJ Miller and were able to start the feature to stay up in points. We really appreciate DJ letting us borrow it for the weekend in case we needed to run the car, which unfortunately did.”

“I hope to find something to drive next weekend or at least at the Dirt Track World Championship since both our engines are down. One was lapped out and is already at Malcuit’s and then this one letting go this weekend. We will be calling it a year as far as driving my cars unless something else comes about.”

“I really appreciate all the support my sponsors gave me this year and how everyone stepped up and helped out when I needed them at the rough parts. I think we ended up with 45 starts, 6 wins, 23 top fives and 34 top tens, so it was a really great season and I am thankful that the crew stuck with me through a long season. I couldn't do it without the guys that put the time in at the shop each and every week.”
